OF MANITOBA MAPS
by Alpha Order
Map Codes are made up of Divisions, Zones &
Map Numbers. Maps are listed with three (3)
codes, for example: Aikens Lake S-12-2.
The first letters denote the management division
of Manitoba Conservation: NE – Northeast
Division; NC – Northcentral Division;
NW – Northwest Division; S – Southern
The middle digits (1 to 51) denote the grid
location of the map. These grids correspond
to the topographical map series (1:250,000).
The two small numbers within the grid square
followed by one letter indicate the corresponding
topo map number. Example: Grid number 25 has
a related topo map of 53K.
The third series of digits (1 to approximately
200) give the actual number of the map. Some
maps may only have this listing.
